can anyone tell me how to remove the encoder from the end of the shaft on the backguage fine adjustment, i need to change the gear which has worn teeth but encoder is preventing access to it ???

There are 4 bolts that hold the handwheel assembly to the underside of the front table. After you drop that down, you can remove a snap ring and remove the plastic gear.

yes there will be 2 pins that will come down with the assembly. but it's relatively easy

Forgot to mention that you need to remove a plastic cover from the assembly first.
