Hi i run a heidelberg 1960 cylinder 22"x32 1/4" which we use for die cutting there is a problem with impression, when we get a pull on the machine the first 2 or 3 sheets that we are cutting dont cut through, after that it is fine, its not going on to impression first time, is it an easy job to fix, any one have any answers for me.

jonny this isnt an easy job to fix really..it sounds like the impression needs re-setting,,have you been putting oil in the top caps?an easy solution is to turn the trips off on the swing arm, place the machine on impression whilst holding the air so the sheets cant go through, then when it has done a good few revolutions let the sheets go through and it should cut out on the 1st sheet...in the uk to replace the impression screws you would be looking at a cost of £2600 to replace them ..........

If oil builds up in the spring chambers located under the cylinder journals, then the press will experience a hydraulic effect. Upon every revolution of the cylinder, the automatic impression mechanism is trying to put the cylinder down on impression while the oil buildup under the cylinder pushes it up. Thus the first few impression revolutions of the cylinder will not diecut until it settles down.
Email me and I will recommend a way to eliminate your problem. Binderymachineservice@yahoo.com Thanks, Marc. |
